DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face using a sterile, surgical-grade blade. For maximum results, a mild peel can be added to further exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin, leaving you with an even more radiant complexion. CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR DERMAPLANING
Please note that Dermaplaning must not be performed if any of the following apply to you:
- Active Acne or Breakouts – Dermaplaning can spread bacteria, worsening acne and inflammation.
- Open Wounds, Cuts, or Cold Sores – The treatment can irritate or cause further damage to compromised skin.
- Skin Infections (Bacterial, Viral, or Fungal) – Conditions like impetigo, herpes simplex, or ringworm increase the risk of infection spread.
- Recent Sunburn or Excessive Sun Exposure – Sunburned skin is highly sensitive, and dermaplaning can cause irritation or worsen peeling.
- Recent Use of Accutane (Isotretinoin) – Within the last 6 months – Isotretinoin increases skin sensitivity and may cause excessive peeling or irritation.
- Recent Chemical Peel or Laser Treatment (Within 2 Weeks) – Skin needs time to heal between treatments to avoid over-exfoliation and irritation.
- Rosacea or Highly Sensitive Skin – These conditions may worsen with physical exfoliation, leading to increased redness and discomfort.
- Uncontrolled Diabetes or Blood Clotting Disorders – Delayed healing and increased risk of infection make the treatment unsuitable.
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR PRO POWER PEEL
Please note that Pro Power Peel must not be performed if any of the following apply to you:
- Active Acne, Open Wounds, or Inflamed Skin – Chemical peels can worsen irritation and increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Recent Use of Retinoids, Prescription Exfoliants, or Strong AHAs/BHAs (Within 7 Days) – These products thin the skin, increasing sensitivity and the risk of burns.
- Pregnancy or Breastfeeding– Some chemical peel ingredients, such as salicylic acid, are absorbed into the bloodstream and may not be safe for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.
- Recent Sunburn or Excessive Sun Exposure – Sun-exposed skin is more prone to irritation and damage post-peel.
- Autoimmune Diseases (Lupus, Psoriasis, Eczema, etc.) – These conditions can cause unpredictable skin reactions, including excessive peeling or flare-ups.
- Recent Waxing, Laser Treatments, or Dermaplaning (Within 1 Week) – The skin may be overly sensitive, leading to increased irritation and damage.
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR MICRONEEDLING
- Active Acne, Rosacea, or Skin Infections – Microneedling can push bacteria deeper into the skin, worsening inflammation and breakouts.
- Open Wounds, Cuts, or Irritated Skin – Damaged skin needs to heal before microneedling to prevent further injury or infection.
- History of Keloid or Hypertrophic Scarring – Individuals prone to excessive scarring may develop unwanted scar tissue after treatment.
- Blood Disorders or Use of Blood Thinners (e.g., Warfarin, Aspirin) – Increased risk of bruising, excessive bleeding, or delayed healing.
- Pregnancy or Breastfeeding – While microneedling is generally safe, hormonal changes can lead to unpredictable skin reactions.
- Recent Botox, Fillers, or Laser Treatments (Within 2 Weeks) – Microneedling too soon after cosmetic injectables or laser treatments can disrupt healing and results.
- Use of Accutane (Isotretinoin) in the Last 6 Months – Accutane makes skin highly sensitive, increasing the risk of irritation, prolonged healing, and scarring.
- Diabetes or Impaired Wound Healing Conditions – Slow healing increases the risk of infection and complications.
